My Candy Valentine By Darlene Franklin

My Candy Valentine

This was a very good short story.  It starts out in the Jensen Mercantile, which is co-owned by Catrina Jensen and her father.  Catrina runs the store and sets up displays to attract the customers.  Gilbert Williams is sent by his boss, Mr. Matchbanks, secretly to find out information about the store, but he is surprised by how Catrina treats her customers and goes above and beyond to take care of the customer.  Catrina also spends a few days cooking cakes, cookies and pies to sell in the mercantile, which attracts Gilbert even more.  Catrina and her father are both very devoted Christians and I was very impressed how they welcome anyone and everyone when obstacles happen no matter their past in counters with them.  Will Gilbert's assignment for his boss become an obstacle or a blessing for the Jensen's?  This is a very easy, attention grabbing Christian book.  I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys short stories, good, clean Christian fiction or fast-passé books.  I have never read any books by this author, but I will be looking for more of her books to read.  I have received a free copy of this book in exchange for my true and honest review.
